Despite riding temperatures in
the high 90s, David Roarke
managed to take charge of the
125cc Amateur class in the third
day of racing on the C YMRA DisLTict 3 circuil.
The l25cc Amateurs were second
0[[ the line with Brian Harrison taking the early lead. Soon dicing with
Harrison was George Braymack and
on lap three he took control of the
moLO.
Roarke had a late stan, but was
plowing forward at an intense rate.
On the final lap, Roarke passed for
the lead and win. Braymack and Harrison led je[[ ArmsLTong across the
line in second and third. When the
gate fell the second time, Braymack
had the led with Roarke LTying LO
pass through the first three laps.
Greg Dye had his hands full with
Harrison for founh.
The leaders changed places, but
Braymack didn't give up, he stuck
with Roarke to the finish with Dye
holding off Harrison. ArmsLTong
didn't get into the LOp five in the
second moLO, but picked up fifth
overall.
Open Novice action saw David
Smith holeshot, but soon he had to
deal with the likes of Steve Trow.
Glen Davis held down third position
with lillie LTouble and opened a gap
over fourth. Trow pressured Smith
until the last lap when he blew by
Smith and took the win. .
Round twO had Chris Flower batding it out with Trow for the lead.
On the third lap Trow passed Flower
only LO give the lead back on the last
lap. Ricky Kuhn LTied LO take second
from Trow, but couldn't get by. Davis
followed LO the finish line in fourth;
Smith hung on to finish fifth for
third overall.
Schoolboy ace Larry Maxwell led
lap one before Mike Dries took over
with Bruce Strauon in third. By the
moLO's end Dries had a comfortable
lead with Maxwell and SlTalton both
riding unchallenged to the checkers.
MOLO twO heated up when Maxwell stole the holeshot with Dries following closely. SLTauon had a poor
stan and was busy dealing with traffie. Dries rode on the rear fender of
Maxwell until the founh lap when a
switchback claimed him. Maxwell
took advantage and cruised LO the
win. Stralton followed a disappointed
Dries across the finish line in third.
