, -Joh'n Horn was overwhelmed by the victory. "Pinch me, is this for real or am I dreaming?" It was a great day for the Horn Brothers and a great day for Yamaha. . The endurance series moves to Loudon, New Hampshire for the halfway point of the series and the midseason payoff of the WERA/EBC points fund. The third round of the Michigan Grand Prix Series was won by Ed Key 'on a Yamaha FZ750. Key overcame a battle with Mike Teadaway and Mark Tanner to take the win. Winner of the two previous Grands Prix, Jim Knipp, was pushed off the line by another rider and crashed his Yamaha TZ500 on the first lap. The most exciting race on Sunday and perhaps one of the most exciting of the year was the C Production race. Gene Burcham rode the wheels off the Dreyer Yamaha/Diamond Chain FZ600 to win that event. Burcham used every trick in the book and then some to hold off Ed Key, Dean Joas and Robby Braunscheidei. At one point Burcham dabbed his knee in the dirt on the corner creating a smoke screen of dust behind him to throw off the other riders.
