Wood cuts- competition in Sacramento MX By Greg Neukam SACRAMENTO, CA, JUNE 13 Honda-mounted Dave Wood was the big winner in the Pro class at the Friday night stadium motocross races at Sacramento Raceway ParR's Motobowl. Up and coming Scott McElroy pushed his Honda to a second overall finish. The first Pro moto saw McElroy in the lead at the start with Wood second. Jimmy "Kamikaze" Robertson had a midpack start and began his charge to the front only LO fall on a fast righthander LO drop to the rear of the pack. Wood searched the emire moto for the magic line around McElroy, but it never materialized and he had to settl.e for second. Robertson rode hard, butthe leaders had putLOO much distance on him and third was all he could ask for. Wood was out to win in the second moto and after a picture-perfect start he did just that to take the overall. McElroy was at his limit and it wasn't enough to pass Wood, so second·and second overall was where he ended up. In 250cc Novice action, Dan Allen was awesome in his last race as a Novice as he smoked to the win in both moLOS ahead of Darren Baker (2-2) and Steve Lawrence (3-3). Results PRO: ,.
