Jared Ramsour lOok the aocc Expen overall with a perfect I-I score. He led all of malO one as Andy Atkin suIfered mechanical difficulties. Coleman, McMillen breeze at Hurricane Hills MX By Thom Veety CUFFORD, PA, JU EI Chris Coleman and Kurt McMillen came LO Hurricane Hills Spons Center's first Gran Prix and took home the honors in the three Expert classes. Promoter Tommy Hurd promised the riders something different and that's what he gave them. Utilizing the ski runs from the former Endless Mountains Ski Center, Hurd was able lO add to his already European-flavored track and the rider response was excellent. Coleman started things out in the first 125cc Expen malO, taking his Kawasaki to the point closely followed by Barry Carsten, Dan Portz, Lee McIlvane and Jim Kapitan. The order remained pretty much the same for the first three laps with Coleman stretching his lead over Carsten to 20 seconds and Carsten was 12 seconds ahead of Poru, McIlvane and Kapitan. Coleman held on to take an easy win with Carsten second ahead of Kapitan, Portz and Mcllvane. Coleman went to the front at the tart of the second mota, butthis time Rob McCullough was in second ahead Carsten, Dan Congdon, Andy Fleck and Tom Haines. Carsten took over second and Tim Bril moved into third, but by this time Coleman was in tbe wind and rode f1awlesslv lO take another easy win. Carsten again took an easy second, with Brill, Fleck and McCollough rounding out the top five. Distriet34's number one rider, Mike Spear, took the early lead in the first Open Expert mota with pro rider Dave McLean, returning to action after suffering injuries in Florida, in second, ahead of Scott Pinney, Chuck Weinberg and Dag Boyesen. Kurt McMillan and Bob Sorensen got tangled on the start, putting Sorensen out of the mota with a broken bike and McMillen 20 seconds behind. McLean took over the lead on the second lap with Boyesen taking over third behind Spear. Meanwhile.
