Cobare Racing's Kathleen Coburn, Roy Hare and Edgar Hinton rode their GSXR1100 to second with Schwing racing's Yamaha FZ750 third. Stadium Motorsports is stressing that the June 7 Los Angeles Coliseum Superbowl of Motocross is a regular supercross and not a repeat of last year's Rodil Cup. The Coliseum stop is the final on the 1986 supercross tour. According to SMC, the University of Southern California has opened its parking lot for supercross parking on June 7. Husqvarna riders Mark Hyde, Fritz Kadlac and Fred Hoess fi nished 1-2-3 in the June I National Championship Hare Scrambles Series round in Wapwallopen, Pennsylvania. Matt Capri rode Luftmeister's turbo-charged BMW K100RS to 161.261 mph at a recent SCTA land-speed meet at southern California's EI Mirage Dry Lake. The speed makes the bike the fastest BMW in American history, topping the 147 mph mark set by Butler & Smith (then U.S. BMW importers) in 1976. Capri says his next goal is to top the 173 mph mark reached by a BMW in Germany in 1937; he'll then claim to have the fastest BMW in the world. Capri says the turbo kit on the bike is completely streetable and produces 7.0 psi of boost. Multi-time World Speedway Champion Ivan Mauger will conduct his second annual speedway school at Ascot Park in Gardena, California, on June 14-15. Trinder, a native Australian, rides a Suzuki RG500 in the Formula One class, and New Zealander Goodfellow ride a near- tock Suzuki GSXR· 750 in the Formula One and Superbike classes.
