Have credll card ready. RAINIER, WA, MAY 10 Unsponsored Darrel Davi from Bremerton wen t I-I in the 250cc and Open Pro classes at the short-track held at the Rainier Bowl. The Coyote organization did an exceJlemjob getting the track imo shape for LOnight's season opener. However, as the riders began LO arrive the sky opened up with an unreal downpour followed by hail. Practice was run on me track as is but afterward they cut two inches off of the LOp and re-packed it. It started out quite sticky but progre ed to near perfect as the evening wore on. Several riders ran around trying LO borrow any kind of four-srroke single, thinking it would be slick like in practice. In me first 250cc Pro heat race Kit Farley, who came all the way from Salt Lake City, Utah, grabbed me lead ahead of Kris Kaiser from Hawaii, Mark Rooks, Mike Felt, SCOlt Chapell, and Don Paul. Kaiser lost it in turn one and Farley had a 10-yard lead in no time. Rooks reeled in Farley and the two of mem fought toomand-nail for three laps. everaltimes Rooks put a wheel ahead of Farley but he was unable LO make a pass stick. Just when it looked like Farley had it made his bike quit, right after taking the white flag. Rook lid too wide coming Out of four and Felt went under him at the white £lag. At the checkered it was Felt. Rooks, who was very close, Chapell. Kaiser and Farley. The second 250cc Pro heat race saw Malt Holden take a brief lead over Davi . who was followed by Chris Staley, David Ayers and Tom Newman. Coming out of turn twO Davis blew by Holden and rode superbly clear LO the flag: Holden, Ayers and Staley were 30 yards behind Davis. Newman dropped out wim mechanical problems. Davis wemallthe way in the 250cc and Open Pro trophy dashes also. In the 250 c Pro B main Don Wilson, who skipped practice and t.he heat races, wem wire-LO-wire for me win. Bebind him was taley, Kaiser and Newman. Wi] on elected to run me A main, starting from the back row. Rook barely beat Davis to me corner in the 250cc A main. Following mem was Wilson, Felt, taley and me omers. Davis passed Rooks on me from traigbt men Rooks repassed Davis going into turn one. Exit.ing turn two Rooks went too' wide and Davis blew by for good. Wilson rode well and worked his way up LO second ahead of Rooks, taley, Felt, Ayers and Chapell. Staley and Felt rode side by side for two laps with Staley finally winning out. Up front Davis was flawless. Bebind him at the checkered was Wilson, Rooks and me others. Results WEE PEE WEE: 1. MAY 18 Chris Carr from Stockton, California walked away with first place honors in both the 500cc Expert and Pro-Am races at Ladi Cycle Bowl, as 138 riders showed up LO compete. In the 500cc Expert class Carr won his heat race, with Bryan McDowell taking second. Mike Gresham placed third in his heat race and Dan McDonnell winning in another heat, thus setting me stage for the main event. In the main McDonnell pulled the holeshot, followed by Carr. Carr reeled in McDonnell, as McDowell worked his way up through the pack. McDowell put on a charge which moved him into second pot, bump-
