Pingel, Sybert ace Dade CityMX By Athie Sanders DADE CITY, FL, MAY 3 Jeff Pingel and Chuck Sybert were just two of the riders who took overall wins in their respective classes in the sixth round of Dade City Raceway's Points Championship MX Series. Pingel nailed the 250cc C mota one holeshot and pulled away as Jeff Warrington and Todd Colbert gave chase. Warrington closed in on Pingel's rear tire and pushed. As they were about to lap riders, Pingel looked for an open line in an attempt to escape Warrington's pressure. Pingel came off the doubles £lying by Bill Petitt, bending Petitt slightly out of shape. He veered towards Warrington slowing him down momentarily. giving Pingel the needed edge. Warrington lost no time as he mounted a drive to close up the gap; he was once again on Pingel's tail Pingel nailed his Kawasaki to the pegs as he fought to keep his lead. He led Warrington in for the win with Todd Willimson, Mike Rogers and Fred Pree taking third through fifth respectively. Pingel holeshot moto two as well, just ahead of Warrington. Williamson, David MarshaU and John Burger moved ahead of Warrington to fall in behind Pingel. Marshall dropped back, and as they went across the finish line, it was Pingel, followed by Williamson, Burger, Warrington and Rogers. Williams 3-2 moto finishes netted him second overall, Warrington managed the third overall with his 2-4 mota finishes. Chuck Sybert holeshot the first 125cc B class moto while K.C. Wood and Jeff Finkhousen battled for the second exi t from the tum. Finkhousen charged through, claiming the position. The two leaders pulled away, but Finkhousen bit the dust coming outofa turn,aBowingWood, Darren Vendetti and Blane Armbruster to charge by before he could get back on the gas. Finkhousenplayedcateh up, but best he could finish was fifth. Sybert held on for the win with Wood, Armbruster and Ricky Ham pshire following. Barney's Yamaha-sponsored Finkhousen said, "I was right up there, but just slid out. The track is sandy and slick tongiht, and I just lost traction. Chuck Sybert is a good rider. It would have been hard to challenge him, but I would have liked to have tried." In moto two Sybert was in a fairly comfortable lead from start to finish with Hampshire, Finkhousen, Wood and Armbruster following, Just before the white £lag came out, Firtkhousen moved into second when Hampshire went down, but by the time they rolled around to tkae the checkers he had lost it again and ended up fifth once more.
