Sweetland tops Western 200 By Daryl Drake AGUILA, AZ, APR 27 Garth Sweetland continues to dominate the Expert class in the 1986 Desert Champion Series with an overall win at the Arizona Desert Racing Association's inaugural Western 100, sponsored by Casebeer Motocross Team. '" fell and broke the clutch lever early on the second lap and had to pit again. Then I got a Oat on the third lap and Powers passed me. The fourth lap was super dusty. Mike fell and I caught him." "We were duking it out preuy good for the whole race," Powers said. ''I'd catch him in the pits every time, but my jetting was off and I couldn't pull top gear in washes. I was doing real well until the last lap. In heavy silt I hit a boulder and went flying; taco-ed hpth rims, rang my bell. Overall it was super fast and dusty, but the best race o( the season!"
