Local rider Jason Riddle grabbed the lead out of the off-eamber first turn in the second moto but his lead didn't last long much to the dismay of the local fans as Riddle bailed off in""the whoop-de-doos and left the door open to Gregory, who was right there to snag the lead and the overaJl win after demolishing molO two for a I-I blitz of the class. Smith trailed each outing for a 2-2 second over Bales who took a third with 3-4 rides. Lone 125cc rider Dana Anderson nabbed the lead from nine 250cc riders at the snap of the rubber band in the first I25/250cc B contest. Anderson easily won the first outing with Bergren taking the battle for second by the horns. Third went 10 David Grady. The second lime out saw Anderson back in his all-toofamiliar lead with Bergren and Grogan trading paint for second, which resulted in a final tum pileup, sending the duo down in a scramble for machinery. Perennial GPer Brad McLeod was fastest off the line as the Open class was waved off. The 250c were next to leave, with Curt Farrar leading the way. Three Intermediates; Troy Welty, Scott Murphy, and Jeff Black were in front of aJl the 125s as the laSI row left the line. McLeod, riding a Scots Valley Honda, romped away with the Open win, topping both Pros and Intermediates. John Ferro and Ruben Falcon were the next two Open Pros. Frank Costanzo got first Open Intermediate. Before the end of lap one, Todd Campbell (Pro-Cyde/MS Racing) had his KTM yammering at the heel of Farrar's Yamaha. At the end of lap two, Campbell blazed into the lead and pulled away for the eventual win after running second overall for much of the race, first behind McLeod and then behind Micky Dymond.
