Doug Polen is the man to beat in the Suzuki GSXR Cup Series, and is currently leading the points standings for the series in several different geographic and sanction regions; Polen's tops in MRA (Colorado) in both 750cc and Open divisions, leads WERA Mid-Atlantic region 750cc and Open classes and also heads the 750cc and Open lists for the WERA South Central region standings. Doug Toland, Scott Gray and Richard Moore are tied for the points lead in AFM southern California 750cc standings, and Bob Reinen leads AFM southern California Open points. Keith Pinkstaff leads OMRRA Oregon Open points and Je(f Morrow leads OMRRA 750cc standings. GSXR Cup Series points for AFM northern California events were notavailableat press time. Mark Hyde won the May 11 AMA/ Wiseco 1OO-Miler Hare Scrambles Series Big Bear 100 in Bruceton Mills. West Virginia. riding a Husqvarna. Fred Hoess was second overall. also on a Husky; Hyde topped the Open A class. while Hoess was first in the 250cc A class. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has scheduled public land round table discussions throughout Cal ifornia; the discussion will deal with how federal lands administered by the BLM are being managed now and how they should be managed in the future. The meetings are planned for May 20 in Baker; June 12 in EI Centro; July 10 in Mariposa; July 24 in Santa Monica; July 31 in Sacramento; September II in Ukiah and September 17 in Alturas.
