APR. 20 Honda riders Robert Carlson and Jamie Clouser clobbered the 500cc C and 250cc C classes with 1-1 tallies at Clarks Branch Racewa y in Roseburg today during AMA-sanctioned motocross. Joining Carlson and Clouser a t the victory podium was Darren Clayton (Honda). who took both 125cc C motos. Kawasaki-mounted Shawn Highland gunned down the h ig h hopes of a h u ge field of riders in both 60cc B/ C class rno tos, which ran co m bined in two waves. High land wen t o n to take a I-I tally for to p brass in the B class. w hi le the fig hting went o n behind for the C class la urels led by fro nt runners Kevin O'Conner. Joe Don Ireland and Jamie Cook (Hondas). O ' Co n ner grabbed first-place brass in the C class going I-I to beat Cook, who did a number on Ireland to grab runners up. via his 2-2 rides. The largest class of the day was the l25cc C class. Clayton and fellow Honda pilot Troy Davis (Davis Constructio n / H o nda) had a brutal bailie for fir st pl ace in moto one in a battle that went Clayton 's way at the completion. Medford rider Todd Alter took third in the rnoto to lead a Honda sweep of th e top three positions ahead of Kawasaki speedster Darrell Woulbrandt. Mota two saw ClayIOn and Davis dueling in the dust for the overall brass. Clayton commanded the second outing 10 bag the win with his I-I rides, beating Davis' 2-2 and Alter's 3-3, Woulbrandt went 4-6 for fourth . while Kelly Sawyer (Honda) , went 7-4 for fifth. Carlson and Dana Schaffer (H o n) dominated the 500cc C class in the first grueling IO-Iap mota. Carlson rode a rampalll race 10' take the checkered com ma n d o ver Schaffer and Kawasak i rider Tom Wood. Mark Da vis (Honda ) and Yamaha p ilot j eff Mornarich.
