In Ama- 30 leur class aClion, il was Eddie Addair and Charlie Johnson takin~ lWO wins apiece. Chris Brewer staned lhe 125cc Pro class Wilh a clean holeshol followed closely by Branch and Nonh Ca.rolina 's J im Chesler. Chesler qUickly .passed Branch lhen moved by Brewer in lh e whoops. Branch followed, pass· ing Brewer a few lurns laler. That set the finishing order at Chesler , Branch and Harrison. Branch holeshot th e second rnoto followed -b y H arrison an d Chesler. Chesler quickly passed H arrison to ch ase Branch and Harrison fell a short time later, moving Brewer into third. Chesler reeled Branch in and pulled alongside in the whoops, but fell. While Chester recovered, Branch pulled away 10 a comfortable lead ' and look an easy win. Chesler finished . second ahead of a charging Thomas Cumby. Gerald Greene led the first rnoto of the Open Pro class followed by Ron Jones and Jeff Eads, Greene crashed at the bottom of the downhill , leaving Jones with the lead. Jones pulled ahead while David Alben, Jr. moved through the pack 10 second. On the fourth lap, Jones' bike broke the chain and Alben look over the lead and held a fast pace 10 the £lag. Greene had picked himself up andworked his way back to second at the fin~h. Jones, Jeff Eads.and Albert were at lhe front of lhe pack in mOlOlWO, bUl Alben faded wlih a hun back while J ones and Eads moved ahead. Jones look lhe win and Greene passed Eads for second. . Pro Circuit/SD Racing's Bell dominated both rnotos to claim a class win in second round action of FMC's 1986 Spring Series, . Bell took a good lead on the fir st lap of th e first moto, followed closel y by Dav e Toth , a lso on a Honda . In third pl ac e wa s Yamaha of Brandon/ Gear Ra cewea r 's Wes Keenum , from Wildwood on a Yamaha. Holding fourth was 'anolherTallahasseerider, Lonnie Seay , on a Kawasaki. TJ. Brandy, sponsored by Ka~asakl of Ocala, a recent Amateur rider now running B class, was in fifth . Halfway through the moto, Seay broke and Bell skimmed over the clay surface with ease, lookin g like he was born on the Honda. Bell had a good lead and put some lapped riders between him and Toth by the end of the rnoto , Keenum finished third and Brantley was fourth. Geuing rocket like gales he ."'on both his Handicap heat and semi from the 30·yard line. He then came 10 the Scratch side of the program and placed second 10defending National Champion Alan " Cra zy" Christian in his heal before defeating Shawn McConnell in his semi. That set up a thrill ing duel in the main. Ott (Backstreet Limousine Service/ Jones Goggles Godden) came off the pole and OUI jostled Robert Pfetzing - as they went into the first bend. McConnell got PfelZingon the back chute and shot past Ott on the inside as they came off turn four 10take over the lead. As they crossed the line at the end of one lap McConnelllhen pinched Ott against the wall and almost put him on the din. Ou recovered and the chase was on. McConnell rode the pipe as (Ju blasted around lhroug~ the cushion. O tt was leading most of the way, b ut McConnell would occasionally poke his lire in front.
