moved up to tak e third after some

Ron Heppner a nd J eff Oldenberg
close behind. Oldenberg's ag gress ive
riding pai d off as he took seco nd
behind th e long gone Sch m it. Pear son, Heppner and G reg Nelson bauled
10 the flag to fin ish in that order.

slip ped by Pearson nearing the end of

fight in Senior Mini action. Bradshaw led the first moto from start to
finish despite intense pressure from
West Virginia's Stevie-Childress and
Kitch of Michigan. PJ- IIBarr/MJ
USA-backed Childress finished second
over Kitch and said, " Wh'en Kitch
came up behind me I had 10 stop
trying to pass Brad shaw a nd concentrate on holding my position."
Kitch came on strong in moto two
and passed lea der Bradsha w over the
big double-jump on lap four and
wo n . Bradsha w held on to second
position until the last lap when his
Yamaha's seat came loose. C hi ldress
grabbed the advantage and got by to
finish second over Bradsha w. Kitch 's
3- 1 earned top gold over Bradshaw' s
1-3. By the O lympic-points scoring
system used here. Childress' 2-2 was
only good for third overall. Bradshaw
took the series point lead over an
absent Hank Moree while Ch ildress
advanced from fifth to second in the
standings. .
In the first 125cc Pro moto Honda /MX Fox /Simpson's Mark Crozier
handed Mike Andrews his first defeat
of the series . Crozier led all the way
but had his hands full as Andrews
was latched 10 Croz ier 's bik e's rear
fender for mos t of the distance. Suzuki
Cora l's Andrews turned the tables in
rnoto two wth a holeshot and start-tofinish win, netting top cash. With
five mi nutes remaining in the moto,
Gerald Wood dropped Crozier 10
third. Crozier's 1-3 ea rn ed ru n ner-u p
honors over Wood's 3·2 .
Wood was a surprise winner in
250cc Pro action as his 5-1 tall y put
him into th e top slot, Wood 's second
moto win was not easy-as hi s Yamaha's
rear brakes were rendered usele ss by a .
broken part. H e managed 10 hold on
for the win over Robby Neeley. First
rno to winner Andrews came back
from a sp ill in th e seco nd rnot o 10
fin ish sixth, netting third overall.
Crozier was seco nd overall via his 2-4
tally. Steven Smith stayed in the hunt
• _. throughout the day and finished 4-3'
for fourth. Neeley's 9-1 earned sixth
overa ll.
Junior Mini rider Carl Fogle put

Michael Fann. Fann came back in
65cc action and storme d back from a
crash at the start of rnoto two , finishing 1-2 for top honors. Seco nd moto
winner Zec Bradshaw copped runnerup honors over Joey Dill a rd.
