By loop three, h e had passed hi s way into seco nd 250cc and fiiiished n inth overall. Kearny Mesa Yamaha 's Rheynard Mo rgan followed Pipp in fo r th ird 250cc a t 10th o verall. In th e 125cc ranks , i t wa s Rob Nolan (Kearny Mesa Yamaha ) in fo r th e win . After a th ree-kick sta rt, Nol an ca me through in 19th a t th e end o f th e first loop, seco nd behind a hardchargin g Bruce Taylor an d h is Kaw asa ki. By loop two, No lan had smoked into first and from th ere o n, i t was a ll smooth sai ling 10 th e finish for the 125cc win a t eighth o veral l.
