In the third 250cc Pro heat race it was Kirk Strong getting the holeshot over Darell Davis, Mickey Fay, Bruce Serls and Rick Mschichowski. Davis and Fay diced for second the entire race until just before the white flag, when Fay lost it in turn three and Davis went on to follow Strong to the flag in front of Series, Mschichowski, and Fay. In the 250cc Pro trophy dash, Green, Aseltine and Davis rode side-by-side for almost a lap. Coming up the front straightaway Davis backed off a little and blasted by both Green and Aseltine on the low side and squeezed by for the lead. With Davis in the lead, it was Aseltine pushing him hard, with Green and Roose close behind. With a lap to go, Roose mad~ his move, passing Green then Aseltme. In heat one of the 5.00cc Pro class, Chris Fitzhugh and Davis came off the line side-by-side, followed by Robert Aseltine, Aaron Waggoner and Barclay. On the backstretch, Barclay went under Waggoner and the finishing order was set: Davis, Aseltine, Barclay, Waggoner and Frohs. In the second heat race Kirk Strong jumped the lights, sending him to the back row. Getting a super start was Randy Green, who rode a beautiful race wire-to-wire.1t took only two laps for Strong to move into second, but he was never a threat to the smooth-riding Green. At the checkered it was Green, Strong, 30 yards back to Stocks, Davies and Rose. Roose came off the line quickly in heat three to run another wire-towire race with Mike Kearney threatening only briefly. Sullivan, Fay and Budschat battled behind the front runners, with Fay recovering from a midrace slide-out to take third, followed by Sullivan then Budschat at the checkered. ~, Green and Davis came off the line side-by-side in the 500cc Pro trophy clash ,foHowed by Asehine and oose.
