Marshall HONESDALE, PA, MAR. 5 KeysLOne Sportsmen MOLOrcycle Club held its last scheduled ice race of the season on Daniel's pond. The quartz ligh ts beamed down on almost perfect ice conditions. The crisp, clear air had many spectators watching from the comfort of thei r ca rs. Dave Soden again easily won the Open class as he has done all season. Soden would let the other riders drive into the first corner ahead of him and then proceed to pick them off one by one, finishing by wheelying acro s the finish line.Ray Kimble sorted out some problems and took second. Rich Korb finished third after a first-lap crash in the first race. The 200cc class was won by Bob LaMorte. Long-time club member and ice racer Jim Mowau placed second and Kevin Magoalski rounded out the top three. In the Mini class, Kraig Welsh avenged his defeat two weeks ago by taking first ahead of Darrel Cobb. Derek Murray finished third. Michigan Ice Race Awards Banquet By Tom Thomas MOSCOW, MI, MAR. 9 The Southern Michigan Ice Race Series held its banquet and awards day at the Big Oak's Bar; in Moscow, Michigoan. Everyone who had something coming showed up and broughl someone else, so there was a full house. A memorial plaque was given to Richard and Sharon Biglow, owners of Big Oak's Bar. They losltheir son Ricky last summer in an accident on a road bike. He had been the champ in the 125cc class the lastlwo seasons. Jesse Gonzales had his name put on the plaque for being this ye-ar's champ.
