Kenny Keylon, wh o bobbled off th e line, hustl ed up to the sixth-place sp ot by th e end of lap one and wa s methodi cally pi cking off the co mpetition when his Yamaha took a swim in o ne of West Palm 's famou s drainage ca na ls. Murphy rode flawlessl y, outclassing th e field, whil e Collins kept H ollis a t bay for the more 's number-two slot. Murphy said lat er , " O ne o f the bolts fail ed in th e triple clamp a nd m y fork tu bes slip ped a little. It was n o big problem here, but a t a track like Ga torbac k , it mi gh t hav e been a d ifferent story." Collins said later, " I cras he d too much in th e firs t moto to mak e it to the fro nt tod a y." H oll is added , " I figured th at I had th e second overall and slo wed down to make su re m y frie n d H a rol d N eigh bors was OK. H e took a bad fall. California indicate that members of the Ca lifornia Off-highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Commission are up in arms over evidence that a member of the Commission's staff has been leaking confidential information to environmental groups determined to eliminate off-road recreation in the state. In addition. according to the sources close to the Commission. delays in submitting the Commission·s budget to the Governor may result in the Commission not having a budget in fiscal 1986-1987• and the delays were caused by the Commission staff. The Commission oversees the state's off-highway fund and rid ing areas purchased or operated with fund monies.
