On lap two , Bro wn , riding a tight, inside lin e, put a wh eel underneath Lazor a nd pulled past on th e front str aigh t. Lazor wou ldn't give up, but Bro w n rode a flawless final t.wo la ps for the overa ll ro u nd o ne wm. Da y two o f icc ra cing saw Bro wn . Da il y, Ford and Lazor back on th e track together for th e fin al heat race of round two. Brow n, Ford and Lazor had been u ndefea ted on th e evening, a nd Da ily had two wins and two seconds. Lazor and Ford moved o ff th e line together , but both took wide lines in turns o ne an d two, g iving Brown th e in sid e line. Sarron agreed that th e styles were different. " I a m fast into the corner a n d ou t of it, but in the m iddl e Lawso n is qu icker. It is a style tha t was good eno ugh 10 win me th e 250cc World Cha m p io nsh ip and I will have 10 make th e best o f it o n the 50Occ, I cannot rea IIy cha nge now." Sarron does not h an g o ff th e mach ine as much as Marn o la or Lawson, but this, he poin ted o ut, is n ot a lways a disadvantage. " In th e middle o f the corne r, it so me times does slow me because if the ma chine is scra p ing o n th e ro ad I cannot go an y fast er but in very fast corners I am better off because I crea te less wind resistance. Sa rron finish ed third in th e cha mpionsh ip on hi s and asked for a 200%in crease in salary to rid e the 1986 version. The Gauloises Blondes team th ought he was worth retaining and h e ha s signed for next season even though he is ca ndi d a bo ut his ch a nces agains t Law son a nd Spencer.
