Phillips Petroleum researchers found that the use of unleaded fuel . in engines designed to use leaded fuel resulted in substantial valve seat wear, even when the engines were run under only moderate loads. The tests were revealed by the American Farm Bureau. which is contesting the EPA decision to phaseout leaded gasoline by 1988. The catch is prolonged very-high-speed running, especially on pavement or dry lakes, can cause the foam tube to overheat; when that happens, the tire spins on the rim. At one point in the Baja 1000, 8MW's Gaston Rahier used wire to secure his bike's rear tire to the rim. In slower. rougher sections. the Bib Mousse works well and makes punctures impossible. Tire and tube combinations are available in 901 90-21 ,140 /90-17 and 140/9018 sizes, and sell for about $ 160 to $170 retail.
