made two mistakes. One pretty
big mistake and kind of got stuck
down a hill. Just after that I made
another little mistake and they
got a gap."
FMF/KTM's Ben Kelley was
fourth and was pushing Strang
hard at the finish.
"I felt like the first two laps I
didn't really ride the best," said
Kelley. "Just not being able to
see and not picking good lines.
I dropped back to fifth behind
Strang and he kind of pulled
away. I finally was able to get
into a groove and got by Dante
"It was brutal," said Toth.
"Luckily, I got the holeshot and
checked out on the start. Kailub
just snuck by me at the end. It
was close; that's how it goes."
Babbitt's Online/Monster
Energy/Team Green Kawasaki's
Josh Strang finished third, giving
him a podium in every race this
year.
"I didn't get a bad start. I think
I was fifth, so normally that'd
be good, but it was a bit dusty,"
said Strang. "I got into third and
I wanted to push because Kailub
was just a little bit in front, but I
a lapper, and he tried to cut out
of the rut and go up the hill early
to just get by the lapper on the
last lap. I had enough room to
get behind the lapper and take
the main line that was faster. I
passed him and the lapper at
the same time. It was all downhill
from there."
Having spent the recent
quarantine period recovering
from a broken leg, Toth, who
finished 7-6-8-7 at the previous
four rounds, was looking for his
first win in West Virginia and was
obviously disappointed.
Mr. Consistency
Josh Strang
continued his
streak of podium
finishes.
