Morbidelli Secures Two-Year Deal,
Rossi Announcement To Come

ranco Morbidelli secured a two-year extension of his tenure at the Petronas Ya-
maha SRT squad, fortifying his future until the end of 2022.
2019 was a breakout year for Morbidelli who took four front-row starts and seven
top-six finishes aboard his Yamaha YZR-M1.
"I'm very pleased to be renewing with Petronas Yamaha Sepang Racing Team as
we had such a great season together last year, working with a great drive to achieve
success," Morbidelli said. "I think it's important for me to continue with the same team,
bike and environment going forward as it feels great to work with them."
The rumored appointment of Valentino Rossi as Morbidelli's teammate is still to be
confirmed, with Petronas team manager Razlan Razali suggesting the announcement
could come by Thursday, July 16, ahead of the Spanish MotoGP. CN
