rain ruin his trip. ButJeffStanton made
the most ofit
Jeffplowed through the puddles at
the Diamondback MX Track in Cocoa,
Florida lastweek, and wentontobeoome
the winner in the 250 A Class' on a
YamahaYZ250 and in the OpenA Class
on aYamahaYZ490.
He came in first in all four motos.
Andafter this race, the seoond offour
rounds ofthe Florida Wmter AMA
Series, Jeffstands alone at the top ofthe
pointstandings.
.
We like to think that ouryz bikes
had something to do with Jeff's success.
Take theYZ250. A bike that was born
to run.
TheYZ250 has a redesigned, repositioned rear suspension with newOhlinstypeYamaha shock, piggyback reservoir

accelerating out ofturns. A narrow vertical design fuel tank to lower your
centerof gravity. And a smaller diameter
power valve and new cylinder porting
for more power.
TheYZ490 has allthese improvements, plus-new reshapedcylinder transfer ports and a fiber reed valve toboost .
low and mid-speed performance.
Of course, taking a trip isnt much
fun without your friends. So a few other
Yamaha riders camealong tobeoome
pointleaders: Brock Bullard (85cc, 7-11
Class), Ken Bollmeier (125 A Class), and
JeffHnkhauser (125 C Class).
Naturally, Jeffenjoyed his visit to
Florida And so did his fans. In fact, the
only people who didnt enjoy his visit
were his oompetitors.
