Myth en (Dia blo Sp orts/Cycl e G ea r) was top 250cc Pro. besting 125cc P ro Terry Bostard (Co nco rd Yamaha/Malcolm Sm ith / Scott USA/ FM F Pi p es/McClain Motors /PJ IIDirt Riders Det ergent) and Open Pro Bill Jamerson (Ma xima / H iPoint/Sacramento Honda ). Int ermediate rider Dale Ra yzo r (PJ I/ Bro wn Racing Prep/ Am 'e Goggles an d Grips/ Contra Honda ) grabbed th e holesh ot in th e fi rst moto an d was in excellent position to set the pace Cor the ra ce unti l Yamaha-mounted Ray Crumb opened th e throttle and outmaneuvered Rayzor in the third lap . As Crumb stre tche d out his lead, R a yzor held off Doug DeLay (Ken ny Ro bert s Yamaha ) for th e seco nd -p lace position. DeLay bit th e mud o n th e last lap. opening up the third-place slot Cor Pat Bennett (Yam ). In th e second m oto, Crumb grabbed th e winning line to th e ch eckers while th e rest of the pack was Iighting to stay upri ght in th e mud. Ra yzor got bo gged down a n d wat ched Intermediate rider Patrick Lutz power hi s Yamah a past, foll owed by Junior class riders Pete P iantanida (Cont ra Co st a H onda /M o to-X Fox /PJ I ). J ason Gibson (Yam), J a son J ohnson (K aw ) a nd Robert Schaeffer (Ya m) . Crumb got th e victory in th e Intermedi at e class, while Pi anran ido 's 3- 1 tall y earned him top 80cc Junior honor s. With lap times that eq ua led th e 80 cc Juni or cl a ss w i n ne r , 80 cc Beginner T yr Denlinger (T ri-Valley Honda ) grabbed the holeshot in both motos and rode uncontested to the checkered £lag. As th e thickening mud rooted bikes to th e track, KX rider Scott Rounsavi lle and Suzuki mounted Justi n Crombey struggled 10 stay upright as the only other finish ers in the Mini Beginner's class. U na ware that60cc was not enough horsepower to tackle the mud, Kawasaki riders Seth Young and Casey Johnson scooted around the track to be the only two in a field of five star- TIIJ• 1m as SIJiJIIS as 111 n.
