Th e Mini A main was also a thrill er - Zach R u nd ( Ka w), usually a dominant for ce in th e Mini ranks, tonight lost o u t 10 Shawn Highland. Highland held back both Rund a nd Kevin O 'Conner to n ab hi s on ly win o f th e eveni ng. Johnson fought it o u t with T ro y Coburg a nd Carey Sch o ler before breezing 10 th e checkers for th e 125cc A ma in win. The 250cc A m ain sa w Randy Toreson (Ya m) do damage in the IO-rider , 1O-lap event. Honda rid er Ron Milligan ra n seco nd to T oreson, whi le Chris Ellis push ed hi s CR into th ird a hea d o f a wild scram ble between Harsha a nd 125cc mounted J ohnson. Milligan wa s seco nd, with Ellis third a t th e checkers. Mark Mauheison (Hon ) made h is first a p pe ara nce a t Medford this sea son pay off by winning the Open A ma in. Marth cison had to hold back Mi lligan an d Dennis R o th erha m (H o n) to ea rn the win in th e eig h trider main. Th e Open Pro ma in was by far th e best race of the even ing's program, lining up 10of th e a rea 's fastest riders to do battle for 15 laps.
