In the Open Superstreet class J eff St ern (Suz) took th e ho lesh o t, only to be passed in tu rn two by Kenny Kopecky (Kaw). A t the end of the first lap it was Rol o ff lead in g , followed by Curtis Adams (Yam), Stern and Kopecky. Roloff buill an unassailabl e lead on th e wav to his third win of th e day. St ern a nd Adams waged a clos e bailie, with Stern laking second pl a ce for keeps on th e fourth lap. Th e 450cc Su pe rstree t cla ss p ro vid ed thrill s to mat ch th e a ir show a t nearbyEdwards Air Force Base. On th e first lap th e race was red-fl agged due to a downed rider. T he restart wa s red -flagged with two rid ers down in turn nine. In th e second res ta rt, Ken n y N achman (Ya m ) go t off road in turn four, wh ile run ning th ird . T he race was red -flagged aga in. Frank Callinicos (Ya m) sur vived to enjoy a great di ce in th e third restart with Chuck Morton (Yam) a nd Alex White (Yam) . Callini cos prevailed for th e win with Morton in tow. Callin icos took fir st pl ace in th e 450cc L iquid Cooled class as well. O CT. 27 Kawasaki riders Kevin Neal and David Church traded mota wins today in the 125cc Intermediate class during California Racing Club's (C R C) ga the ri ng a t DeAn za Cycl e Park . Neal led from sta rt to fini sh in th e first rn oto , whi le Ch u rch took a fir st-lap crash th at d ropped h im to th e rear of th e pack and wa s o n ly a b le to sa lvage a fourth in th e mo to . But Church ca me ba ck in th e seco nd round a nd smo ked everyo ne, while Neal fini sh ed second . H ow ever, Neal's 1-2 tall y was more th an enough to beat Church 's 4- 1 co m bination for th e o vera ll. In th e first mot a, co m bi n ing all th e Interm ed iat es on o ne lin e, 250cc Kawasaki-mounted Terry " Cisco Kid" Szu csk o jumped o u t to th e early lead , whil e Neal , Craig Davi s (125) a nd "T he Kid" SCOll Murphy (125)chased . By the halfway point, Koci nski began his attack and pa ssed Moen and Vandenberg on th e next lap .
