" Cisco Kid " T erry Szucs ko pl ayed th e cha llenger to Pa lmer in th e 125cc Intermed ia te class a nd took seco nd overa ll. Larry Laye won th e first moto, wh ile Sassen chased him fro m second after working up from abou t n inth p lace. Davis was clearly th e favorite to h is hometown crowd as he mot ored h is Anchorage Cycle Sa les' Yamaha to eas y wins in th e 500cc Expert class on bot h days. Davis' number o ne rival and 1984 Stat e 500cc Expe rt cha mpio n Jeff Roskell ey was inv o lved in a bad cras h durin g Sat urday 's pr act ice.
