Ro n Mowry took secon d . Ever yone wh o hadn 't been n ear th e front in rnoto o ne took off in a cloud at the start o f rnoro two. It took a few laps for them 10 sett le down but wh en they did. Mowry was in the lead an d he hu ng o n right for firs t and fir st o vera ll for th e da y. I n the 250cc In ter m ed iat e/ P ro event, Scott R o bertso n stuffed hi s Kawasaki into th e lead in the fir st turn and was joined by Mark Decker a few seconds later, Ro bertso n held the lead unti l lap five. when Joe Hopkins went from slowl y worki ng h is wa y up 10 a sudden ru sh that took h im from th ir d to first in 100 yards. R o bert son charged back a nd the two se t a scorch ing pace that wou ld have been disas trous if eith er cra sh ed. Nei ther did, nor did the positions change, Hopkins finish ing firs t an d Ro bertso n second. The second mota promised to be a dazzler. Jeff Mabery led th e Intermediates from start 10 finish ; Mabery was th e on ly one a ll da y 10 try th e triple jump in front o f th e pits. H e mad e it, bu t he d id n' t try a gam . Decker put hi s Su n wes t Yamaha into th e lead at the drop o f the ga te follow ed by th e H o nda o f R ich T r u ch in ski, wh o had finish ed third in mot a o ne .
