Drawing th e number two spot, he had th e lead by th e fir st turn , a nd had no problem holding it. The exci teme nt was between Jim Sisemo re and last week's winner Bart Bast , who batt led it out over second, side-byside most o f th e wa y. Du an e Yarrow was never a ble to do a ny th ing but seu le for what was left. At th e fini sh it was Sisemor e who claimed seco nd behind Orlandi. H arlan Bast, Jr. took the Handicap mai n win , so meth ing that has eluded h im for a long tim e. Da rrell Busby, in Division One a t Au bu rn for th e first Steve Lucero styles at Carlsbad. He scored eight points at the Inde pe nd e nce Cup race. not enough fo r the main.
