Yet the newYamaha FZ750 required only 56 days to win its first major race. On May 5, in fact, Bruce Sass grabbed the Mountain Roadracing Association's Open Superbike race aboard an FZ. Three weeks later, anotherFZ ridden byjimVreeke took RoundThree ofthe AFMlKerkerWest Coast Superbike Series. And the following week,Team Speedboys ran offwith the prestigious WERA National Endurance Series.
