Masters eventuall y passed Mark Anderson , and with two laps remaining he began to run down Jim Anderson. but th ere was not eno ug h time left to make up th e di stance. Mark Anderson took the seco nd mota holeshot, but J im Anderson stu ffed underneath in th e seco nd turn and never looked back. Tom Kirkley was also do u ble tro ub le. winning bot h motes of the 250cc J u n io rs. And in th e 125cc P ro class, Bria n Manley duelled it out with Mike Beier to tak e th e overall Win . In th e first I25cc Intermediate mota . Bal dwin (Han) pulled th e holeshot, and took an early lead o ver Mark Wood (Kaw) and Gary Sailors (Suz). Fifth pl ace rider Robby Gordon (Kaw) was dicing his wa y through th e pa ck. On th e second lap Gordon moved into fourth place. and by th e third lap he had charged hi s wa y past Sailors and Wood to tak e over seco nd place. Sailors th en passed Wood to take third place on th e last lap. Wh en th e checkers ca me out Baldw in took th e win, followed by Gordon and Sailors. In th e second mota Baldwin took a quick lead over David DiCorato (Yam ) and Keith McMillen (Kaw). On th e second lap McMill en pa ssed DfCorato , who faded out of the top five. O n th e third lap. Gordon charged by McMillen then went a fter Baldwin. But Ba ldwin was untouchable; at the finish it was Bal dwin . Gordon and McMill en . In the first 125cc Pro mota it was Team Tarnrn 's Beier (Kaw) who took the lead with Bob Ra msey (Han) and Man ley (Han) in tow. In fifth place was Eddie Hicks (Yam) who. by ih e second lap. had charged his way into first place and began to pull away from the rest of the pa ck. Manley temporarily dropped from third place to fifth . then moved back up to third by the third lap.
