National Ou tdoor Coalition was in th e fra y unti l judge Tash i rna issued the prelim inary injunction on the Desert Plan in December, 1980. From that point on, it ha s been D-37 a nd AMA fight ing th e Dove Springs a nd California Native P lants cases . The cost o f these cases was over $ 120.000, of which AMA and D-37 spli t. T he Barstow-to- Vega s la wsu it is a total D-37 effort. It has bee n the riders of th e district wh o have mad e th is p ossible. The Sierra Club has forced this su it 10 go th e fu ll di stance an d cos t as mucb as p os sible. There have been two ap pe a ls 10 Appeals Court so fa r an d one more 10 go. Indian Dunes very qui et ly closed their race track s. They had a n o ffer to sell to th e.sta le for a SR VA area , but th ey tu rned it down. They will not hurt fina nciall y because th e studios will co nti n ue 10 rent th e prope r ty, I don 't blam e th e o wners for being upset by being sue d by th e clubs they rent th e track to suc h as AME (Arner· ican Mot ocross Erue r p rises.)
