Bu t. a s West wa s not runn ing for poi nts. Fu ller was proclaimed th c victor. Bill DeBere won yet a no the r 450cc Stock Product ion tro p h y wi th a commanding lead o ver Keith McKibbon a nd a fierce battle for thi rd bet ween Don Vi'arren a nd J oe Yat es. T in ker Ma yfield , a last-minu te additio n 10 th e big -bore class after hi s 250 expired during practi ce. took a come-fro m behind victory in th e O pen Intermedi at e clas h over Bryan Briggs. As Marvin McKin took hi s cus tomary ho lesh ot 10 open th e fir st m ot o , Ma yfield 's borrowed 500 Kawasaki point ed its front wh eel skywa rd as h e ca me over th e ga te.
