Walls to the Walls at DeAnza By Nate Rauba SUNNYMEAD, CA, FEB. 17 T here was no stop ping Da ryn Walls (Kaw ) as he swept the 125cc Novice win today a t DeAnza Racin g Club's Sunday 26 MX. Walls won both motos a fter battl in g h is way into first in each race. J etton had spent much of th e race battling with ' Gonz a les a nd Raa b, a nd it wasn't until th e fina l la p that he had secu red th ird. T resville took second overa ll , wh ile Gon zales' 2-5 was good for thi rd overall. In the 250cc Int ermed ia te class G ilbert Valdez (Suz) was the overa ll win ne r wi th a 3- 1sco re. Fook s went o n to win the mo to a fter battl in g with Yamaha of Covina 's Kenny Maddux, tak in g th e lead o n th e fin al la p wh en Maddux was slowed by traffic. Both Brag in a nd C riswell got by Abd ella on th e first lap , a n d short ly a fter that Abd ella fell behind an d wa s o u t o f th e race. Criswell stayed right on Bra g in unti l he sta lled o n lap two, a llowi ng Bragin to move ahea d a ways. This mar gin was a ll Bragin needed to secure th e win since Criswell co u ld n 't ma ke up for the lost grou nd befor e the fin ish . Abd ella stole the hol eshot once again in the seco n d moto, leading Chapma n an d C hriswell, through turn o ne. Abdella led until he cra shed out of the race o n th e second la p , ha nd ing the lead over th e C hapman . For the nex t co u p le o f la ps C hapman held back Criswell. but at the halfway ma rk Criswell got by a nd immedi atel y ran a way with the lead. Criswell made no mistakes and cru ised to the win, whil e C hapma n took second a nd the overa ll in th e beg inn er class .
