For division two of the 250cc Intermedi at es, the start o f the first mo to saw. Bob Wos ik (Hon ) ro cket into a n early lead. onl y to be pa ssed by J eff Matiasevich over a ju m p. J eff Mabery took adva nt age of the same j u m p. moving Wosik into third. By lap three. Matiasevich was in the lead. followed by Mabery a nd Wosik. Mabery then powered past Matia sevich on a straight to take o ver the lead. Wosik. fading even further , was th en passed by H onda-mounted J o h n Er isign for third. Mabery and Matiasevich then ran aw ay from th e pack . leading third pl ace rider Erisign by over 10secon ds. These positions didn 't cha nge until lap five. when Eric H arvey a board a Yamaha was able to get by Erisign for third. By this time th e three top riders were in a considerabl e lead over th e rest of th e fie ld. At th e end it was Mabery taking th e win , seconds a hea d of Ma tiasevich a nd H ar vey. In moto two . Su zuki p il ot J eff Reynolds took th e ea rly lead . followed closely by Tim Wahlberg (Yam) and H onda-mounted Brady H elm. Matiasevich put th e heat on H el m . and w as a b l e to p a ss b y o u tbrak in g h im. m ov in g into th ir d. Leading th e' whol e time and way out in front wa s Reyn olds. Th en Mar iasevi ch mad e hi s move. p a ssin g Wahlberg a nd moving into second. Two turns later Mabery also passed Wahlberg to tak e over third. Mab ery moved in on Matiasevich , a n d the two went side-by-sid e. chargin g a nd gaining g ro und o n th e leader Re ynolds.
