According to a spokes m an for Sea rs Point, the park has been cl osed for severa l m onths due to va nda lis m o f park p roperty. The Sacramento County Department of Parks and Recreation announced that Ae rojet General is conducting a $150.000 " detailed investigation" of environmental conditions at the Prairie C ity "Green Stickie" park. The park is located near Folsom . Californ ia and was once owned by Aerojet. which used the site for testing rocket propulsion systems and other "materials ." Aerojet is attempting to detect and measure residue levels resulting from rocket testing to determine if there are any health hazards to park users. Sacramento County will also be conducting its own independant 'soil sampling. A previously made study on Prairie City concluded that there were no " apparent health hazards ." The current investigation is being required by the Ca liforn ia state leg islature before it releases approximately 1 ,5 million dollars in frozen grant funds for further development of Prairie City. The investigation is scheduled to end in June. Giant cigarette company Rothmans International signed a three-year sponsorship contract w ith Honda Racing Corp. for 500cc GP road racing . 1983 World Road Racing Champ Freddie Spencer and Takazumi Katayama will ride the Team Rothmans blue and wh ite NS500 V-3s and new NSR500 V -4s . This marks Rothmans' first ventu re into racing.
