In an amazing fo urt h pl ace finis h was H olley, wh o crash ed earlier in th e m oro a nd had to restart from almost dead last. The second moto saw th e unexpected happen as H olley jett ed into the lead a fter passing Robbie Hadlock (Ka w) who got the holesh ot, By th e end of lap o n e, Holley mad e th e m ot o hi sto ry as h e bu ilt up a IO-second lead over seco n d pl ace rider Ped erson . In thi rd was Wosick , who had wor ked his way up th rough some heavy traffi c. With H olley wa y o u t in front an d Pederson seco nd , a ll Wosick had to do was finish third to claim the overall win. Ever ything appeared to be in the ba g for Wosick until th e la st lap. Ped erson wen t down in a tum , letting Wosick by, th en Pederson remounted a nd got back o n th e gas . A couple o f turns lat er Pederson ca ught up w ith Wosick a nd th e two rid ers tan gl ed , send ing Wosick down an d den ying h im th e ove ra ll wi n. The top spot therefor e went to H olley, with Wosick seco nd an d Pederson third. "I had some real good lin es a nd ever ything was going pr ett y easy," sa id a dej ected Wosick . " When Ped erso n went down , I d idn' t n eed to pas s him , because I had everyth ing all wrapped u p. Wh a t h e did by h it ting me was uncalled for. By the end of la p one , Ph il Larso n was do in g battle wit h Dash iell as they ba tt led fo r the po in t pos it io n ; Mike La rson wa s hanging back in third, and early fro ntrunn er McKenn a we nt dow n b ut qu ickly rem ounted . Dash iell soon dropped back, a nd the lead was now being decided by th e brother s Larson. Mike held th e lead for severa l laps as Ph il look ed for openings, but none co u ld be found. Both La rsons were riding at a prett y inten se level on th e sa ndy track, and third pl ace rider McKenna was abou t five bik elen gths back. At th e three-quarters mark, P h il go t by brother Mike to ta ke th e lead, bu t th e o lde r Larson was still back by just half a bikelen grh wh en the chec kered flag ca me o u t. McKenna motored in for th ird a p prox ima tely 12 bi kelengths beh ind th e Lar sons, with Cahors fourth a nd Kawasaki-mounted Scott Sargent fifth. Phil La rso n qu ickl y took th e lead in th e seco nd mo to , with SCOll Mann in g (Yam) seco nd a nd Mik e La rson a close th ird . Phil quickl y pulled a way to ge nera te a subs ta ntia l lead whi ch h e mainta in ed for th e rest of th e mot o , how ever, th ere wa sn ' I goi n g to be a replay of the first m oto duel with hi s brother. . Just o n th e fir st lap, whil e Mike La rso n was pursuing Ma nn in g , th e Yamaha rider sta lle d in a tight rig h thand tum with Larson pl owin g into hi s rear fen der. T he crash retired Manning , bu t Larson was a ble to resu me rid ing. Meanwhile, McKenna., Sargent a nd Ca hors moved o n up to decid e who would take second p lace . By th e en d of the moto, McKenna claimed that honor for himself, wit h Sargent third. Mike Larson ro de on trying' to play ca tch-up with th e rest of th e frontrunners, but lost itgoi ng ove r a set of double j umps. T he moto finished with Ph il La rso n in a commanding lea d a nd th e overa ll win. McKenna 's 3-2 was good for second overall, and Sargent's 5-3 helped him peg third. " E ve ry th i n g fe ll to g eth er real good, " said Phil Lar son afterwards . " T he bike was wo rking good , a nd thi s is the kind o f track tha t I rea lly like. I just used m y h ead an d ro de smart." BOcc Experts Honda rider Kyle Lew is m ade it a I-I clean sweep o f both 80cc Expert motos to m ak e short wo rk of the class. T he firs t moto sa w Lewi s in co ntrol, a head o f Low ell Thomson (Kaw) who wa s foll ow ed by Mik e Pascar ell a (Yam) . Thomson bobbled 10 let Pascarell a by, a n d th e m ot o finished with Lewi s w in ni ng , Pascarell a seco nd a nd T homson th ird.
