Minimum fine is $35 per vehicle, induding bikes, trucks and trailers. Let our mistake, costing $140, be enough of a lesson. USFS does not issue warnings, only citations. Big Brother strikes again I The roads we were riding were cut by 0-38 Caterpillar to facilitate logging operations in the National Forest - what possible damage could a 250pound bike do in comparison? MICHAEL KOPP AMA #5398 San Jose, CA CZ World Chempionships Since the closing of Saddleback Park, the CZ World Championships have been looking for a home for the 1985 title race. Luckily SMX, the former Saddleback Saturday promoters, are reorganizing the 1985 CZ back crowd 25 miles east in Corona. SMX will be promoting the 1985 CZ World Championships and Vintage Motocross races on January 27, 1985 at Corona Raceway. The race will be held on the new Corona International track that is totally separate from the shon track, night ll)otocross track or half mile. TheCZ World Championships have been held since 1980 and are in their fifth year. Past CZ World Championship winners include Gary Jon.es (three-time 250 National MX Champion), Phil Oveland (who will fly in from Hawaii [or the 1985 race), Lance Moorewood (former National Minicycle Champion and 500cc National Four-Stroke Champion) and Clark Jones (now Yamaha Competition Suppon team manager). Vintage MX races are also a pan of the CZ World Championship program and are open to riders on any machine built in 1976 or earlier. Because of the nature of older machines Cycle News could be of great help by announcing the CZ World Championship date and paniculars so that everyone will have a month to get the old iron running again.
