CA .. (415) 683-3519 pressive wins. Harsha dominated the 250cc A and Open Pro mains, while Pelkey made a triumphant return to racing after an injury to top an exciting 125cc A main. Zach Rund (Hon) opened up the evening by storm trooping to a 60cc A main win over fellow Honda rider Joe Don Ireland which opened up the door to large wheel racing in the form of a wild bunch of 80cc riders dueling for three trophy spots in the 80cc A final. Paul's Sport Centersponsored Kristin Cowan has been nearly unstoppable in the past several outings and tonight was no exception, as the female sensation outrode her male counterparts to top the field and put Suzuki rider and (JattrackITT specialist Wayne Frampton in second to the finish ahead of Lance Holder (Suz). Ten riders lined up in two rows for the l25cc A main which saw heat winner Pelkey sitting the pole on the Paul's Sport Center KX. Pelkey shot off the line in complete control at the start and held the lead throughout the exciting main, while Steve Croucher (Kaw) carved through the early traHic to sellie inches behind Pelkey, who was making a comeback due to an earlier injury and rode· impressively to top the main and beat pesky Croucher and an on-the-move 200cc Honda rider Harsha. Harsha looked for his first win of the evening' when the 250cc Sportsman contestants rolled their machinery' to the line for a 15 lap thriller. Harsha took the ho1eshot in the main, controlling the tempo on his CR250 Honda motocrosser and pulled away convincingly toput Word (Yam) and Todd Alter (Yam) in second and third places at the checkers. The Open A main saw Honda 5OO-mounted Monte Smith get lucky with a devastating scratch 0(£ the line but was quickly overtaken by Suzuki RM500-mounted Ted Perreard. Perreard pulled away ,from Smith and AMA Junior Oat track Pro Bob Ingle (Yam. 495) and rode in command holding off late charges from Smith - but just as things were looking up for the RM pilot - Perreard made a last lap crash which was taken advantage of by Smith, who jubilantly waltzed across the line to collect the win. An all too familiar Honda graced the pole for a 20 lap Open Pro main (Harsha's) and that same machine and rider vaulted into the lead at the start of the final. Harsha was hounded by Pelkey (Hyn. 480), Word (Yam. 250) and Ingle (Yam. 495) on lap one and positions stayed much the same until the completion with Harsha taking top cash payoff over Pelkey and Word in the place and show spots. Harsha continued his win streak ruining Pelkey's high hopes of an upset. Results OPEN PRO: 1..Jeffrey Hershe (Hon); 2.llerry Pel· key (Honl; 3. Frenk Word III (Veml. OPEN A: 1. Monte Smith (Hon); 2. While all the races were great today, the most intense race of the day was the 60cc class. Diana Brundage (Yam), and Haug were tied in points for the number one plate going into the final round. A one and one quarterhour-long race would determine the outcome. . Brundage was first off the line with Haug hot on her heels. Into the first turn, Haug went down giving Brundage a large lead. Haug wasted no time restarting his bike determined to make up the lost distance. By the fourth lap, Haug was right on the rear wheel of
