In the I25cc Experts, Warren Reid cored a victory for Balsa Grande; Broc Glover, ri9ing for Valencia, was third. At a CMC Carlsbad motocross, Tommy Croft LOok hi Kevin Franksbuilt Honda to early leads in both l25cc Pro matos, only LO drop out. Winning it was factory Yamaha rider Yoshifumi Sugio; Bruce McDougal was second. Mike Bell (Han) third. Gaylon Mosier won the first 250cc Pro maLO, but had problems in the second to finish second overall. Marland Whaley (Man) won the last ATA trials meet of the year at the Barona Indian Reservation. econd was Bernie Schreiber (Bul) and Martin Belair (Man) was third. Cook Nielson rode a Ducati LO win the CMC Open Produ tion class championship at Orange Coumy International Raceway, narrowly beating out BMW-mounted Miles Rossteuscher. Winning the 200cc junior GP was Don Emde over Tom Hayner. Art Friedman won the I25cc Production class on a DKW. . Jim "Bimbo" Pomeroy took a well- . earned victory over Brad Lackey at the second annuaJ Richmond Scramblers Mini GP. Full-sized riders came LO race on pint-sized bikes, including Jimmy Weinert, Kenny Zahrt and Mike Faria. Mike Laney, Tim Melancon and Earl Roloff diced for the lead in the 500cc Amateur 'IT at395 Cycle Park. Laney first led, followed by Roloff, who grabbed the lead a couple laps later. Laney came back to win it; Melancon was third. In the Open Amateur! Experts Roloff (Nor) was the winner, ahead of Lyle Moore (Yam) and Ron Powell (Tri). Winner of the IOOcc juniors at Corona Raceway's R.A.C.E. night MX was Brian Myerscough (Yam). At the SRAI D-37 'IT at Elsinore Raceway, Novice Wayne Rainey (Hon) took the combined 125cc Novice!Amateurs, ahead of Amateur Steve Woskoski (Yam) and Novice G,wdie Kidd {Yam).• A Couple of Rookies Keith was also selected as the Supercross Rookie of the Year. Malcolm Smith and everyone at MS Products is very proud of the accomplishments of these two and feel they deserve all the recognition due the new and upcoming stars of the sport. Malcolm Smith is very proud of his new pro's. Keith and Guy were both selected A.MA, Rookie of the Year in their respective classes, (Keith for 250 and GUy for 125,) in the 1985 Outdoor Nationals.
