The reported breakdown of races includes II miles, nine road races, four each half mile and TT races and two short tracks. The AMA will release the lists of dirt track, road race and MX riders earning National numbers on December 3. TRIVIA: The lOp 10 riders in the final Carner Pro Series point standings accounted for 30 National wins on the 33-race schedule. Among the changes noted in the 1985 GP MX schedule are four new venues for .the 125cc class riders with Yugoslavia, Portugal, Argentina and Brazil on tap. In the 250cc class, the season will kick off with the first-ever MX GP in South Africa. A trip to Russia for the title chasers is also on the agenda. The 600cc clasS schedule remains basically unchanged in the countries visited. A full listing of dates and locations will appear in next week's Calendar section. (147NE) Look for a numbering system in professional road racing to follow the lines of the AMA Grand National Championship with Mike Baldwin carrying number one in Formula One, Don Greene in Formula Two and Fred Merkel in Superbike. (147) The site for the 1985 Motocross des ,Nl!tions is in jeopardy due to the grpwing strength of environmentalists in West Germany. The track at Gaildorf, specifically chosen by the FIM to showcase the new format which features all three classes in the same moto, lies in the center of the area in Germany most seriously affected by forest death. The organizing club has been working hard to obtain permission for the race, tentatively scheduled for midSeptember, but has not yet received it. Rumors from pasta land have Italian Corrado Maddii, who lost the 125cc MX World Championship when he broke his leg in practice before the final event while holding the championship point lead, joiningcountryman Michele Rinaldi, the newly crowned 125cc champ, in a Suzuki team run by Roberto Galina. Galina, better known for his Suzuki dealings in GP road racing, would split the two up with Maddii staying in the 125cc ranks and Rinaldi moving to the 250cc class. The Citadel Circuit in Namur, Belgium, after one year off the 500cc MX GP schedule for being dangerous and attracting rowdy fans who tried to sabotage the efforts of all riders but fellow Belgians, is back on the GP schedule. The Honda V-4 Sport Touring Association has scheduled its third annual national rally - named STAR (Sporting Touring Assn.
