TEri YEARS AGO A spy photo howed the new 880,:c, doubIeoverhead cam, all alloy V-twm Harley-Davidson in the Latest Poop section of Cycle News, It featured a five-speed transmission and dual 36mm Mikuni carbs, The projected release of the trick Harley was "sometime in 1975," At the Last Annual Dirt Diggers Hopetown GP Scrambles, Larry Roeseler (H-D) led most of the race, until Penton-mounted Carl Cranke took over to win the IOOcc Amateur/ Expert class, Roeseler got another second place in the 126-200cc race, this time behind Jeff Wright (Puc). In the 250cc Expert class, Cordis Brooks (Bul) took the top spot over Will Harper and John DeSoto (Oss). Cranke made it two-for-two by winning the 350cc All division over Tony Rogers' Maico. At the CMC road race at Ontario Motor Speedway, Harry KIinzmann took two wins - one in the 350cc Junior GP class over Wally Karpynec, the other one in the Open Junior GP division, both on Yamahas. In the 250cc Senior G P, Bruce Hammer was the victor over Whitney Blakeslee. Blakeslee (Yam) also finished runnerup in the Open Senior GP class, this time to Mike Devlin. Tofinish oUhis third class of the day, Blakeslee won the 350cc Senior GP race. John Ulrich rode a DKW enduro bike to the 125cc Production class win, while Dain Gingerelli (SUl) finished second to John Chermak (Yam) in 200cc Production action.
