Major changes on the CR250R include a new cylinder port shape and timing, a redesigned ATAC (automatic Torque Amplification Chamber) system, modified frame geometry and a lightweight flat-slide carburetor. TheCR 125R gets magnesium crankcases and a redesigned cylinder and cylinder head, a new exhaust system design, modified shifting forks and a relocated steering head pivot. Topping the list of changes on the CR80R are an engin with redesigned poning and new cylinder head, increased suspension travel on both ends and a floating rear brake. On the CR500R, the 491cc engine features a redesigned cylinder port shape and is fed by a 380101 flat-slide carburetor through an j:igh l'peta heed I I valve. The five-speed transmission's shifting forks have been redesigned, along with the engagement dogs, while a new kick starter ratio makes for easier starting. The semi-double cradle frame has been changed in the steering head and swingarm pivot areas, while the Prq-Link leverage ratio has been altered which bumps the travel LIp to 12.6 inches. The Pro-Link shock has a larger piston diameter and increased oil capacity. An extruded aluminum swingarm now pivots in needle bearings, while the lower shock mount is equipped with a spherical bearing. Stronger rear wheel spokes and nipples are also filled. Up front is a 340101 fork and a twinpiston disc brake with sintered metal pads.
