Marnoch and Tippit. However, during the first lap, Marnoch and Tippit tangled over a double jump and they crashed hard. Both riders scurried of( the track before being run over by the rest of the pack, restarted their mounts and headed back out on the track, only trying to finish and collect points. Meanwhile, Lawson enjoyed a comfortable lead [or the first halI lap before overshooting a turn after clearing another set of doubles. Lawson stalled his Honda while the rest o[ the pack mOlOred by. This gave the lead to Yenzer who went on to take the , win ahead of Wilson, Duane Quale (Hon), Mike Wilson (Yam) and David Wool more (PMT). The I25cc Novice division one class featured some first-class racing, Aaron Lewis (Kaw), Pete Snyder (Hon) and Rob Sassen (Cag) ballled tooth and nail .in both motos. Sassen grabbed the early lead in the first molO with Lewis and Snyder close behind, During lap one, Lewis nipped Sassen for the lead, while Snyder pressured Sassen in third. Throughout the moto, the trio were always within a bikelength apart. On the last lap, only a few yards from the'checkered flag, a lapped rider caused Lewis to single a set of double jumps, while Sassen was able to fly right on by to take the win by inches over Lewis, Snyder finished third ahead of Jim Connolly (Suz) and Kevin McCrory (Kaw). The second molO was just as exciting. Snyder stole the holeshot ahead of Lewis and Sassen. Snyder held on tqhis lead, whileSassen passed Lewis over the same doubles before the finish but was quickly repassed. Sassen man· aged 10 pass Lewis again, but this time, Sassen made it stick. Over those same doubles, Sassen sailed pasJ Snyder for the lead, but less than a lap later, Sassen crashed breaking his bike. Snyder took the lead back but lost it on the last lap to Lewis only a few feet from the checkers.
