Malherbe put a dent in the Belgian hopes as his front tire went nat near the end of lap one and he SLOpped LO' replace it. Malherbe returned LO action up at the front of the pack although he was a lap down and proceeded to duel it out with Glover and Ward who were running one-two. The crowd-pleasing baule continued all over the track until Malherbe parked his bike with another tire problem.
