On September 15 and 16, 30 of America's top Super Bike professionals will attack Willow Springs International Raceway. Last year's race was one of the most exciting contests of the year. Team Honda had three top racers, Mike Baldwin, Fred Merkel, and Sam McDonald, get off at over 90 m.p.h. while competing for the win. . Flying Fred Merkel will be out to break Honda's past disappointments at Willow Springs International Raceway and bring home the win. But Fred's task will be no easy contest as he compeles against Wes Cooley, the seasoned veteran who finished ahead of Fred last year. Wes rides Willow Springs International Raceway like no other racer. Now throw into the battle the hard charging Sam McDonald who launched his Honda Intercepter through the air and over Wes Cooley's race bike last year while charging for the lead. Visalia local Rick Hughes won his second Handicap main of the year. Hancock was perfecl in the Scralch portion of the program, winning his heal and semi easily.
