Gary Beyer took a tough come-froinbehind win in the Open Intermediate GP but ran runners up to Jody Jamieson in the 125ccIntermediatemotos during the regular program. Young Jeff Daily was a dominant factor in routing both 80cc Intermediate motos on the Team Green KX80, and at the end of the day, he took on the big guys in the Intermediate GP ra€e, open to 80 to 500cc machinery. Sixteen riders dueled for positions with Steve Bye leading the action after Beyer grabbed the early lead only to crash and find himself back in the pack: Beyer rallied from well in mid-pack to settle behind Daily, who was riding superb, circulating the track just as quickly as the 500cc and 250ccriders were. Daily held off 250cc Suzuki rider Dave Fox and Ben Grable for third behind winner Beyer, who displaced Bye late in the race for the win. The Junior GP had Alan Rogers (Hon) battling off 125cc pilots Randy King (Yam) and Mark Bums (Yam). King and Burns ran second and third as Rogers was untouchable. King earlier had handily defeated a 17 rider I 25cc Junior class on his YZ en route to a I-I thrashing of the event, while ~ryan Summerlin and Ron Dykgeaa gave chase in second during both motos. Randy Simpson took third with 4-3 placings. Kelly Whelchel (Kaw) did the dirty deeds in the 250cc Intermediate class. Whelchel tore up the track en route to the first moto win over fellow Kawasaki rider Wayne Church. Wade Anton (Yam) rode well enough to hold off a mass of riders for third beating Chuck Barber (Yam) and Tom Pielcher. Moto two had it Whelchel's way as hg blew the lid off the second moto to continue his domination of the class. Church was runner-up both motos for a 2-2 second ahead of the consistent riding by Anton, Barber and Pielcher. Jody Jamieson and Beyer battled in the 125cc Intermediate class with Beyer topping the first moto aboard a Yamaha to beat Jamieson and Yama. ha rider Steve Bye. The second moto gave the overall to Jamieson, who did a credible job of holding off Beyer for a 2-1 tally on his Kawasaki. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• i CONSTRUCTION i SALE i : : Rimrock Honda Harley-Davidson is • • • : • • : • : 1983 1983 1983 1982 1982 • • : :~:~~"1,£I'S i Time F, r COst 'n building. orSforgis We must move out all inventory.
