em Washington area. The event is the final race intheAMA/Bel-Ray Grand National Motocross Championship. "I think it's too bad that happened," Eddie Lawson told us when informed of Freddie Spencer's decision to miss the next two Grands Prix with a cracked collarbone(seepage 18). "I'd like to see him there, and I'd like to race with him. I think Silverstone (England, August 6) is a good race for us and I'm looking forward to it. If we do good at Silverstone we'll be pretty well off. But one DNF on our side and (third-place) Randy (Mamola) will be right there in the points. I'd feel more comfortable racing with Freddie if we had a battle going back and forth. Wrth Randy and Raymond Roche I have to be more caraful. I think Randy has a lot to prove to Honda, and wants to ride for them next year so he'll be riding a little extra hard. I have to keep it upright. I don't want to do something silly and try to be a hero and win avery one. I'd rather be World Champion. I've been thinking about that a lot lately," Mike Bishop, Chairman of the California Off-Higbway Vehicle Motor Recreation Commission called to tell us that the Commission aprroved $7.1 million in grants to loca agencies for tbe development of ORV areas.
