Dunlop's K291 Touring Elite tires are original equi ment on large displacement motor cycle replacement tires in the Unite States, Dunlop's K391 Sport Elite, which has a similar tread design t the K291, has received wide acceptan in the sport motorcycle tire market. The tread designs of both tires ar highly distinctive and well-known t motorcycle enthusiasts. Dunlop's suit alleges that Li Shin and Rebel have falsely desig nated the origin of their products have committed unfair competition have injured Dunlop's business re utation and diluted its goodwill con trary to Florida law, and have infringed three of Dunlop's patents Dunlop seeks injunctiverelief, trebl and exemplary damages, and attor ney's fees. The Court papers disclose tha Dunlop has tested several sets of t Lien Shin copies of the Dunlop tires both in laboratory and on test tracks and found the Lien Shin copies to inferior in both mileage and perfor mance, in every category which Dun lop considers significant. A Dunlop spokesman stated tha the suit is evidence of Dunlop's resolve to prevent all imitators of it well-known and highly regarded m0torcycle tire products from tradin upon its goodwill and reputation. Dunlop will use all means availabl under law and will not hestitate to take similar actions. Honda's pre-production 1985 CR125 and CR250 showed up at the Mammoth Mountain Motocross. Larry Brooks used the CR125 to win the 125cc Pro class race; Mike Fisher used the CR250 to run fifth in 260ce Pro until he hit a tree and crashed. The n_ bikes have updated plastic and flat-side Keihin carbs; those are obvious changes. and Honda's R.O man Max Suzumoto told us "Everything is improved - the handling. suspension, power - everything. Right now we're doing reliability testing. The 1983 model 260 had piston breakage problems and _ don't _nt to have problems like that with this one."
