Reynard came back LO beat the tie, going 1-2-1 for the overall money over Miller and Bell. Tricia Lyons, at 13 years old, is already a veteran of many seasons of indoor and outdoor Oat track. Today the young lady made a clean sweep of the 80cc A class by demolishing her male counterparts with an acrossthe-board sweep. Holmes hauls at Corona night MX By Nate Rauba CORONA, CA, JUNE 8 Kawasaki-mounted John Holmes put in a couple of come-from-behind rides to capture the overall victory in the 125cc Novice cla s tonight at Corona Raceway_ Holmes moved up from near the back of the pack to place second in the first moLO, and then fought his way to the front ITom third to win the second outing. Derek ott (Hon) grabbed the holeshot in the first moLO ahead of Yamaha·mounted Steve Owens. Derek Par_ sons (Pomona Valley Kawasaki/DC Pro) took over second on the second lap, when Owens dropped out, and began to close the gap on Nott. With two laps remaining, Holmes, with BJ Millspaugh (Yam) on his rear fender, began to close in on Parsons. The added pressure made Parsons pick up the pace and move even closer to Nott by the last lap, but Nott was uncat hable as he held his lead to the finish. Millspaugh briefly got by Holmes, but Holmes repassed, then passed Parsons in the final few turns to snatch second. Millspaugh came in behind Parsons for fourth after getting stuck behind a 250cc bike for . mucI1 of the last lap. At the start of the second moLO, Nott and Parsons were battling back and forth. Parsons came ou[ of turn two with the lead over ott, with Holmes clo e behind. For the first two laps the trio stayed within a few bikelengths of one another. Then, on the third lap, Holmes moved to second as Nott began LO slow a bit. Holmes quickly reeled in Parsons, and for the next two laps they battled wheel LO wheel for the lead. At one point Holmes edged alongside and into the lead, only to have Parsons outbrake him going into tum one. Parsons couldn't holdout, and Holmes passed him with two laps remaining. As the moLO came to a close, Holmes moved out to a comfortable lead and LOok the win over Parsons, while Philip Gould (Kaw) held off the late charges of NOll LO take third. Results PEE WEE: 1.
