At the beginning of loop one the temperature had risen to near 90 degrees and well into the 100's by loop two. The terrain used on the first loops over the past couple of months is becoming a little easier. The only real obstacle on loop one . were the moon rocks, which keeps a rider driving to stay on time. Dan Hapner, 1000c Beg-inner. finished fifth overall on loop one and topped a 26 rider field for Beginners. Birget Hudson had the best score for the women and won the 200-C women's class. Loop two was one long sandwash, which is where a majority of the riders lost some time. The promoters threw in' many well-deserved reset and water stops which were a delightful sight. Gus Paull turned in a fine ride placing fourth overall for two loops and first in the Open A over 50 class. Wade Wilson picked up his third trophy in the 250cc C class and will contest the B ranks on his next outing. Losing 5.274 points, Dana Bell again was the best women finishers for two loops and topped the A-women's division. A virgin mountain trail and downhill was the-excitemerit for loop three. Then, to make things even more interesting, the check was at the bottom of the downhill in plain sight. Following Kemp, Bollingmo Jr., and Mesecher was Tom Karos (Open A), Kurt Butler (250 AA), Randy Pretzer (250 A), Gregg Lusher (Open AA), Todd Johnson (200 AA), Ken Markling (Open AA-Vet) and Bob Farr (250 A-Four-stroke) made up the top 10 best finisher.
